The scariest part of using anabolic steroids is without a doubt, the side effects. The vast majority of anabolic steroids aromatize. This means that they convert to estrogen in the body. This estrogen is responsible for most of these side effects we fear so much, including acne, bloating, and the dreaded gynecomastia. Arimidex is a drug called an aromatase inhibitor, or an AI. It prevents the body from producing some additional estrogen when taking anabolic steroids. It doesn’t stop all estrogen production. A certain level of estrogen is required to be present for muscle growth to take place. Arimidex ensures levels remain useful but not so high as to cause side effects.
Many bodybuilders overlook the use of an AI because they aren’t fully educated as to the side effects of the other drugs, such as Deca and Testosterone, which they are taking. As a result, after a year or so of training and using steroids, they very often have a very nasty case of gyno. What fun is it to display the powerful chest muscles when uncontrollable gyno ruins nearly every pose? Arimidex spikes testosterone levels in the body. Many people use it alone, either as a hormone replacement therapy, or because Arimidex is the only steroid to which they have access. After about one week of use, gains in size and strength begin to materialize.
Arimidex can be used in the long-term, much more effectively than other anabolic steroids or testosterone boosters. It has very few side effects upon the body. It’s not that toxic on the organs, and we’ve already established that it prevents many of the estrogen-based side effects. It has been known to dampen immune system function, so supplementation of Vitamin C and E is essential with Arimidex use. Additionally, Arimidex does not affect IGF-1 levels, which makes it an attractive draw for users taking growth hormone as well. Medically, Arimidex has been used for years to slow the growth of breast cancer in women. It’s a very expensive drug, costing about $5 per pill from a pharmacy. However, it can be purchase for $1.50 to $2.00 each on the black market.
Arimidex is a good option in a stack if you’re looking to offset some of the negative effects of estrogen that comes with the use of some of the harder steroids. It’s absolutely essential to use Arimidex or some other AI when stacking, unless you want to fork over $3,000 for gyno surgery next year. If you are strapped for cash and have very limited access to steroids, Arimidex works as a testosterone booster, albeit not one on par with true testosterone. It certainly is a costly drug, but one that is important to maintain good appearance and normal estrogen levels as you enter the dark side of AAS and begin manipulating hormone levels. Never run a cycle with an AI, and most of your dreaded side effects in bodybuilding will never occur. Skip the AI, and you’re entering a world of problems!
