Liver is one of the key organs in a human life. It is therefore necessary to tackle some of the issues that may threaten the liver, steroids being one of them. How then do steroids affect the liver? This is a question a trainer using steroids may be very much eager to know its answer.
I will therefore start by stating that steroids damages the liver, this problem does not occur with every steroid, neither does it occur in very person who uses steroids. ‘It has always been mistaken to be the case, especially in most of the magazines and the media in general. There assumption is that because most anabolic steroids which are ingested orally pass through the liver, then there are some problems since the liver is the one acting as the body’s filtration system.’ This is what a scientist defending the usage of steroid will tell you. The truth is that when something goes through the liver, it is broken down by various enzymes and passed through into the blood stream. Even though liver’s enzymes are elevated due to ingestion, it does not entail that the liver is being damaged but steroids does the damage. Let it be known that not only those who abuse the use of steroids by using the absurd doses experience steroid toxicity but also those who consult since the damaging factor is in the substance itself. It is therefore not only this abuse that causes the abnormal elevation of the liver enzymes which thus interfere with there normal day to day function but the chemicals contained in steroids as a whole.
It may disturb a body builder to try to understand how this may affect him directly. The answer is, yes, you will be affected when you are using the steroids. First and foremost, it is the liver that filters whatever is going into the human body. It is always activated whenever something passes through it. The activation is done by the enzymes in the liver. Once the enzymes are damaged, the obvious will happen. Substances passing via the liver will not be filtered, thus allowing dirt to enter the body. The end result of foreign toxic substances in the body may be so adverse that I cannot discuss in this text. But the summary of the whole process is that your life will be in danger, something that may lead to loss of life. Why then must somebody take chances with life?
It is true that there are scientific materials justifying the use of steroids. They try to explain how the steroids usage does not affect the liver. A deep scrutiny of the same research states that the research was conducted on rats. That may not be quite alarming since in most cases scientific researches are carried on other animals other than man. My worry is the percentage they give it on human being. Many of the researches give between 85%-90% accuracy. This leaves the steroids user with about 10%-15% chances of being exposed to risk. This is a very big percentage that I’m left to wonder, why take chances with your life just because something was very successful on rats and unknown whether it will be a success in your life. Keep your liver safe, stay away from steroids.
