If you’re looking for a drug which can mimic some of the terrific effects of Cytomel or others which elevate the metabolism by altering the function of the thyroid, then Triacana might be worth investigating. Triacana is a compound which occurs naturally in your body. Released as a byproduct of the thyroid hormone T3’s function, it helps to slowly bring up the metabolism which helps burn more calories. Triacana can be purchased in the United States from a variety of manufacturers. Its trade name is Triax, Tri-Cuts, and Triacana. This drug is currently legal in the United States.

Triacana has been very popular for almost 40 years. Athletes of all sports – not just bodybuilding – enjoy it because it delivers a slight metabolic boost with relatively little impact on long-term hormone function. There are far more powerful drugs with faster fat-burning abilities, but they impact the thyroid on a much more noticeable basis.

Following a cycle of Triacana, you should engage in the use of PCT, or post-cycle therapy. This may seem like a foreign concept to some, but it is necessary. There are no recorded cases of complete thyroid shutdown with the use of Triacana as there are with other compounds, but even limiting its function can be detrimental to both health and bodybuilding goals. Recovery from Triacana can be a slow one. It has a reputation for being without side effects. This is misleading. Like any thyroid medication, Triacana suppresses natural hormone production by the thyroid. This warrants a recovery period following its use. This recovery period takes about 6 weeks for the most outward signs of the drug use, and another 2 to 4 months for all hormone and enzyme levels to return to normal.

If you are a competitive bodybuilder at the higher levels, then you will likely benefit more from the actual use of Cytomel to manipulate your T3 and T4 hormone function. However, if these are too harsh for your wishes, or simply not available due to cost and legal restrictions, then Triacana may be a solid backup plan. If you are a recreational bodybuilder who trains only for your own personal achievement, then ECA (a stack containing 200 mg caffeine, 25 mg ephedrine, and 250 mg aspirin) may be a better solution. If you fall somewhere in the middle, or perhaps to supplement the use of ECA, then Triacana may be a solid choice.

If you’re going to run Triacana, you’re going to be taking several pills, several times per day. Triacana only lasts for about 6 hours in the bloodstream, and you’ll need about 12 tablets per day. This means you’ll be taking 3 tablets, four times per day. This can be cumbersome and can lead to toxicity in the liver if you’re already taking an excessive amount of supplements or other medications, but its minimal impact on body functions in the long term make this high dosing worth it to many users.

If you would like to boost your metabolism a bit, or perhaps supplement your ECA use, but you’re not quite ready to tackle the unenviable task of helping your thyroid recover from a “real” cycle, then Triacana might be a good choice for you. It’s readily available, can be taken in small doses, and has been getting the job done for bodybuilders for many years.
