Q: I’ll just get right into it: Why does test prop hurt so much? I have had swelling and a fever for a couple of days and I feel like crap. I seem to be better, but I think I’ll keep injections in my glutes from now on. Why is it not as harsh in the glutes and kills and mames in the shoulders?

A: First off, alcohol is added, so it does hurt at the site of the injections. Also, keep in mind that some people are actually allergic to the propionate ester in test propionate. You may or may not be one of those people. Propionate is very acidic, and is also lighter and shorter as an ester than other testosterones. That means that it will hurt more and can even produce a kind of serum sickness if you have loaded up too much. Since you didn’t mention what amount you were injecting, it’s hard for me to know how much is too much for you – but then again, YOU do. I would do injections of less prop, more often, as insane as that sounds. You said your glutes tolerate the injections, but smaller body parts with little fat – such as delts – don’t seem to. Also, some people find that diluting it with a compound like Deca, which has similar molecular weight, meets with good results. Even small amounts in the delts can kill anyone. Not every AAS is suited to injection in varying sites. I think most guys believe that because they have injected Deca or some other test into a site, that anything goes. But save certain AAS for glutes only. This is one of those. Test suspension is one that is similar in action to prop and hurts, but not quite as much. Personally, if it bothers you more and more and you still get feverish or incapacitated, I just wouldn’t use it. Trade off with suspension, or mix it with Deca and see how you do.
