Q: Thinning hair, mid-20s, runs in my family. I was just introduced to the wonderful world of AAS, and love it! But, I don’t want to be some bald dude by the time I’m 30. So, a buddy recommended Propecia, but said he wasn’t sure what AAS it would work with to prevent hair loss, and which ones it wouldn’t have any affect at all on. Do you know?
A: It is thought that hair loss is caused via interaction with androgen receptors (present in the scalp as well as in muscle tissue) when too much testosterone floods the receptors and DHT (dihydrotestosterone) is formed. It either causes hair follicles to shut down or malfunction. So, that means any compound which is highly androgenic can cause hair loss if you’re prone to loss. So, all testosterones would benefit from Propecia (also called Finasteride or Proscar) to ward off hair loss. Boldenone Undecyclate (Equipoise) is another that responds well to the presence of Propecia. But D-bol, which is highly anabolic, does not respond to the presence of Propecia. But that’s also because D-bol isn’t liable for conversion via 5AR enzymes present in most “hair loss situations.” LIkewise with prohormones such as Phera-plex, Epistane, H-Drol and Superdrol. So you run the greatest risk of hair loss from taking anabolics - because there isn’t anything that will prevent hair loss in reaction to anabolic activity. Take Propecia during highly androgenic cycles and you’ll be ahead of the game.
