Steroid are chemically seen as molecules which have three rings per se containing around six carbons joined up with a single ring containing five carbons. This means that majority of natural body hormones contain a steroid nucleus. Most steroids occur as lipid derivations of the cholesterol that is secreted by such organ as human placenta, gonads and the adrenal cortex. The types of anabolic steroids in the market today largely depend on how the particular drug is administered into the body. There are three techniques through which users administer anabolic steroids namely oral, injection and transdermal. Oral doses occur in form of pills while transdermal doses are applied by rubbing cremes gently on skin or even attaching transdermal patches next to the skin. Those products available commercially over the counter are however fewer mainly because of regularization and strict control by national anti-drug abuse bodies.
Anabolic steroids can also be classified in terms of their target users. In this case, we have human steroid drugs and veterinary drugs used for treating and supplementing the diet of domestic animals mainly pets. Veterinary steroids that are commercially available within the US market include such brand names as Boldenone, Mibolorelone, Methandriol among others.
