Chemical Name: Boldenone Undecylenate

Street Name: Equipoise, EQ

Clinical Use:

A veterinary drug, Equipoise is mostly used for treatment of equines (horses). However, in other countries, it is used alternatively on cattle and dogs as well. Boldenone is not a substance ever used in human steroid preparations, so the clinical applications only pertain to animals.

Bodybuilding Use:

It’s used for strength and size gains, mainly. Some use it only in the off-season and others use it pre-contest. I think it’s best pre-pre-contest and maybe a few weeks into a 12-week prep cycle. There isn’t much bloat and it’s a drug that gets you into relatively hard, round shape if you’re eating correctly along with it.

Recommended Dose:

150-300 mg/week is the usual dose for the average male bodybuilder not looking for ‘monster freak status’. I like taking about 350-400 mg for a shorter duration, personally. Not only because it doesn’t really aromatize in non-sensitive bodies, but it’s also because I believe in that “go in quick and hard” and then get out again kind of philosophy. I think this is the perfect drug to do that with because strength builds rapidly from the beginning of an EQ cycle and so does size. And a rare note from me: Women do particularly well on this drug. 100 mg max is about right per week. For men, up to 800 mg. per week (in three shots taken every two days) using 200 mg per shot, produces dramatic results.

Side Effects:

The good news is, there aren’t too many side effects with Equipoise. That’s another reason I love it. Aromatization is rare, bloat is minimal and the effects can be dramatic. But you can experience the garden variety symptoms of androgenic activity, such as increased oil and sebum production, as well as slight changes in levels of aggression. Increased libido is another earmark of this drug, but certainly not something to fear. Other than that, EQ is not liver toxic and doesn’t really produce any other undesirable side effects.

Price and Availability:

Not easily as available as it used to be. I remember in the late 80’s and early 90’s, EQ was pretty available in my city. In fact, not a lot of fakes had surfaced and you were getting the real shit 9 times out of 10. In those days, a 50 ml bottle of EQ used to cost about $130. Not bad, huh? A 100 ml bottle would cost about $225. And here’s another cool fact about Equipoise: Any Tom, Dick or Harry could order it out of vet supply catalogs (certain ones) in any size, provided it was a reasonable quantity, without proving that they had DVM credentials. (That’s Dr. of Veterinary Medicine, for those of you who don’t do well with acronyms). Anyhow, we used to order it and sell it to people who didn’t know that and would pay a premium for it. The cost out of an actual vet catalog? About $25-$30—less in quantity! Yeah, I know, I AM a lucky bastard! Expect to pay around $300 for a 50 ml bottle and, if you can find the Columbian stuff (Ganabol) in the 100 ml size, you’ll be paying, , $800! Fortunately, for that price tag, you’re buying the comfort of knowing that there are no fakes reported in that particular size.

OTC:

The active ingredient in Impact Nutrition’s Equi-Bolan is a direct precursor to boldenone and is available over the counter at www.anabolicstore.com. There are many OTC products that claim to be precursors and have effects similar to Equipoise, but if they don’t include active ingredient in Equi-Bolan, they aren’t legit. The Equipoise precursor is one of the most effective “pro-hormone” alternatives on the market, mostly because it is so naturally bioavailable (easily utilized by your body). Take it in doses of 300-500mg/day for 8-12 weeks to see good results.

Fakes:

Veterinary drugs are always knocked off. And while Winstrol-V is likely the most knocked off vet drug, EQ certainly has its share of fakes. Look for cheesy boxes and bottles with questionable labels. Also look for brand names that just don’t exist in manufacture from whatever country you’ve sourced it from.

MASKING:

There is no fool proof, guaranteed way to be sure to pass a drug test. Sometimes taking herbal or synthetic diuretics will do the trick. At least it will up your odds of not getting caught. The best thing to do is be sure you wont have any in your system at the time of the test. Equipoise will stay in your system for 6 months for the average bodybuilder. You have to remember though, that steroid metabolites store themselves in fat tissue so the more fat you have, the longer the steroid will be detectable in your system.

Effectiveness Rating:

I’d give this a 10 out of 10, not because it’s the steroid that does the most for the least, but for the sheer fact that it works exactly as it’s supposed to and gives you the opportunity to look big and hard without looking like a pig!

Final Smack On Equipoise…

What a steroid! I personally LOVE this drug. I’ve gotten more strength off of this than from a lot of others whose side effects are slight. And while I haven’t tried every single steroid manufactured, I can tell you from experience that this comes as close to perfect—for me—as it ever gets. I’m no Nasser, but then again, I’m no pencil-necked geek either. I like a man’s steroid. This is kind of the best of both worlds and the fact that it doesn’t aromatize easily, or at all, is a plus in my book. Besides, I don’t think I’ll ever forget my seated row doubling within the first 2 weeks of using the stuff!
