You’ve probably heard the term “Clen” tossed around the gym or message boards over the years as an effective fat-loss drug. Let’s learn a bit more about this drug by checking out a few fast Clen facts!
It’s anabolic, only not!
Clenbuterol has anabolic qualities, but it’s not classified as an anabolic steroid. It was designed to be used for treatment of asthma (much like Broknaid, the OTC name for Clen’s cousin ephedrine). It was used for treatment of cattle illnesses in Europe until trainers started to notice the cows become leaner and more muscular. While this effect is desirable in humans, producers certainly didn’t want stringy meat! Today, Clen is added to many anabolic cocktails despite not being chemically anabolic by definition.
The research isn’t out there, but…
Clenbuterol is a compound which hasn’t seen a lot of clinical research. Sure, it’s been used by tens of thousands of bodybuilders, fitness/figure competitors, and athletes of every caliber over the years. Trainers and athletes alike know its uses and results. But in terms of being examined for athletic improvement potential, studies haven’t been done on any meaningful scale. Additionally, since Clen is almost never taken alone, it’s hard to pinpoint how much of its anabolic effects can be attributed to its use. Most of the time, users will be using Clen in conjunction with testosterone, HGH, or any other of a myriad of steroids. They all help to contribute to fat loss and muscle gain to a degree, so determining the effectiveness of one is tricky.
You will lose ‘X’ pounds
Because of the lack of clinical research, bodybuilders using Clen are forced to rely upon the word of mouth, or word of advertisement from firms that sell clenbuterol, as to its effectiveness. How much fat will Clen burn, and how long will it take? The answers are individual and will vary. Therefore it’s hard to count on Clen as the sole cutting agent for a show, as you may not be able to calculate the long-term effects easily.
Adapt, adapt, adapt!
As you may already know from the use of ephedrine or anabolic steroids, the body can become very tolerant of compounds rather quickly. Clen is no exception. If you plan on using Clen year-round, you might as well not be using it at all. After the initial onslaught of results, you’ll see a gradual drop-off. Soon, you will need to take Clen just to maintain she shape and energy levels you have. Instead of taking this route, you should use Clen twice per year for 6 weeks, during your cutting cycles.
Clen ain’t cheap
You will spend $1 to $2 per day (at a cost of one dollar per tablet) to use clenbuterol. This means it costs about ten to fifteen times what you pay for ephedrine at your local drug store. If you have the money to spend, then Clen can be of very good use to you. If the funds are not there, you should stick with ECA (a stack of 25 mg ephedrine, 200 mg caffeine, and 250 mg aspirin) as a much cheaper and fairly equally effective alternative to Clen.
