You’ve finally decided to run a cycle of anabolic steroids, and you’re ready to see some results. If you’re a healthy male and you are sure the gear you’re running is authentic, you should be seeing some solid results beginning in a couple of weeks. Here are some tips for ensuring the gains you see during this cycle are maximized.
The three-week mark
By the time you reach your 21-day anniversary of injecting, you should start to notice yourself getting a bit stronger. After 4 weeks, some size gains should begin to appear. Results of a testosterone cycle won’t be felt immediately. This is something many bodybuilders don’t realize. The use of an oral such as Anadrol or Halotestin a few times a week for the first two weeks can be a good way to help spurn results from week one. Patience is a virtue, as well!
Your body can recover much faster while on AAS
Plan ahead for the fact you may suddenly be able to train longer, harder, and more frequently when on cycle. Adjust your work and gym schedule to allow an extra 30 to 45 minutes in the gym each day, and possibly an extra training session or two each week.
You need to eat more
On paper, you might have your diet all figured out, and you may believe you have a great understanding of how many calories you need to grow. Once you start injecting artificial hormones, however, that is going to go out the window. You’d be best advised to add 800 to 1000 calories to your diet immediately, and let the cards fall where they may in terms of what your daily required calories end up being. Whatever you’re consuming now, you will need much more on cycle.
Watch your nipples!
Gynecomastia can appear fast when you’re running a cycle, so checking every 48 hours for early signs of tissue hardening under the nipples is a very good idea. If you detect it, immediately change your anti-estrogen product until you find the right one to halt the growth. Once it has developed, nothing short of surgery will remove it.
Photograph your hairline
Chances are you may go a little crazy checking your hairline in the mirror each morning to see if the negative effects of testosterone – mainly, male pattern baldness – are occurring. Your best bet is to photograph your hairline (with your hair wet) before you begin your cycle. Then, repeat taking this photo each week. Compare them and decide if any effects you are seeing are worth the gains you’re seeing with your physique.
Battle the acne
Your body may respond to the presence of artificial hormones by producing excess oil, which may lead to serious acne. The best way to prevent this is to take a pro-active approach to skin care. Stock up on skin care products before you start your cycle. Shower immediately after training and first thing in the morning if the AAS leads to added night sweating.
