Q: While on a cycle, would Ibuprofen inhibit gains or hurt my internal organs?

A: A lot of people have asked this and I may have answered previously… I will answer my standard answer. Personally, I think Ibuprofen is one of the wonder drugs of the twentieth century. Personally, I think it’s worth every risk – which are very few if you take it correctly. By “correctly” I mean, take it the way it is most effective. That means, go in hard, and get out fast. If you take 400mg as the bottle suggests, it just isn’t enough to diminish TRUE inflammation. In fact, 800mg is the minimum you’ll need to create an actual anti-inflammatory effect. You can take that 3 times a day, for TRUE inflammation (not just soreness) and injury, and hit it hard for a week to 10 days and then be done with it. Then don’t take it for awhile. Take aspirin or other things. Never take Ibuprofen for a headache. Number one, Excedrin (aspirin, caffeine and acetaminophen) is the most effective for headaches. Using an anti-inflammatory is just stupid. Don’t numb yourself to Ibuprofen when you don’t need it. So, to your question, I’ll say, it can hurt you if you “niggle” it constantly and just take small doses over a long period of time. However, it can really knock out inflammation fast if you take it the way I suggested. Scientifically, however, there are studies that say Ibuprofen will inhibit muscle gains, but that’s if you take high doses without eating, and don’t take a break from it.
