For many individuals who know anything about steroids, the media has shaped their knowledge, from newspapers to the screen items. The steroid news has become common place, where athletes are now abusing them for that much desired competitive advantage as bodybuilders go for huge muscles bulging of their chest and hands, abusing them for bulking purposes. In these cases, it has been very hard for the layman to come up with the mental image of the new and modern steroid user. There are reasons why young people are abusing steroids more than ever before.
The main reason is that this young people want to have an advantage over their peers in sports, as much as there is no correlation between steroid use and ability increase after one has used steroids. More strongly, these young people are more susceptible to damaging their agilities and responses, thus the reason as to why authorities in sports have sworn to weed the vice out. Those among us who have made the media their source of what is right and true have conjured an image of a typical steroid abuser: an immaculate elite bodybuilder or athlete, perhaps a home kind of hitter who is trying really had to gain that competitive edge in the game, or even a high school teenager who is desperate to delve into the world of professional hit sportsmen.
As this kind of individuals continue to cause ripples in the headlines, the kind of insinuated stereotype is then veered off base a little bit, according to the latest study done in the sports sphere. The study has brought in the fact that the typical anabolic steroid user cannot be imagined in a competitive platform at all. He is not even an athlete or a bodybuilder. The novel typical steroid user is now an executive, a professional who is highly educated and around the age of 30. He is a male who has never participated in any organized sport whatsoever, and does not plan to.
This steroid paradigm uses anabolic steroids in building his muscles, looking good and increasing his body strength. He achieves it, not as easy or as clear cut as many might believe, but through carefully diet regimens that are planned impeccably with the right exercises. They have become gym addicts. They believe they are as ignorant as the general patriots and possess such exaggerated ideas on how lethal steroids are believed to be. They are not after discouragement. The novel steroid abusers take an avid learning of the hazardous side of steroids such as liver damage, cardiovascular problems and changes in behavior.
This is the reason as to why these abusers inject themselves with steroids, rather than orally take them up, so that they can reduce chances of liver damage amidst controlling their blood levels. They do it with a dose of sanity. Most of the authors covering these novel steroid abusers do not in any way approve the steroids non-medical uses. They believe that the reduction of steroids harmful nature has never and will never be easy, more so if nobody knows who the new user is.
