Anabolic steroids have come about as far as they are going to come, given current technology levels. Yes, there are a class of drugs known as SARMs, or selective androgen receptor modulators, which will be on the scene in five or ten years which give us most of the positive effects of androgenic and anabolic steroids with virtually none of the side effects. However, at the moment, in terms of getting the most bang for your buck, researchers don’t see much potential for improvement. Nandrolone, Stanozolol, and of course, testosterone, are the primary drugs used by athletes and bodybuilders, and they are quite effective. Taken intelligently, the side effects are fairly minimal and the positives are universally enjoyed. These include greater muscle mass, increased sex drive, greater strength, more energy, and less body fat. Steroids are very popular because they work, plain and simple.

Can these drugs be made less detectable by today’s testing methods? Probably not. The newest blood screenings no longer scan for specific steroids. Rather, they examine metabolites in the blood and determine if any hormone manipulation whatsoever has occurred. You can be using standard Testosterone Enanthate, or some designer Nandrolone knock-off designed halfway around the world that nobody has ever heard of, and it won’t matter. You will be detected.

While researchers currently agree that not a lot of advancement can be made in terms of the effectiveness, ir “disguise-ability” of today’s top steroids, they universally agree that we have a long way to go in terms of discovering and developing better delivery systems. Currently, the most effective administration of steroids involves injecting a needle into the body, and inserting oil containing the compound into the body. This oil breaks down in a series of days or weeks, raising testosterone levels and leading to new muscle growth.

In recent years, new delivery systems have come and go. Oral steroids are very toxic and can lead to damage to the internal organs. Topical testosterone gels are available, but have their own issues as well. The gel can rub off on loved ones, there are skin irritation issues, and localized body hair growth and acne have occurred. The patch is arriving as well, and seems to be the best solution so far, although its doses are very low.

A new product called Nasobol is soon to be available, and it’s opening up a lot of eyes. It is a nasally administrated gel that is sprayed into the nostrils, delivering 8 mg of testosterone per dose. It’s quickly absorbed, and remains in the system for over 6 hours. Imagine being able to snort your test four times a day, and bumping your levels up 32 mg per day!

Time will tell if Nasobol, or the next generation version of this drug, takes off. Researchers are studying this delivery means for effectiveness, while at the same time working on ways to disprove its efficacy. Keep your nostrils crossed, and your eyes on the news for advances in this very promising delivery system.
