Q: I am using 40mg/ day of Oxsoralen. How many times do I need to take it to see results? Also, it makes me feel a little sick when using it, why is that?
A: For those of you who do not know, Oxsoralen is a tanning drug, not an AAS. It’s also fairly harsh on the system, and can make you feel poorly. You also cannot use it in conjunction with a tanning bad or you’ll burn yourself fairly severely. Many make this mistake, so if you are going to use an internal tanning product, make sure you don’t switch rationale mid-stream. Now, if you make the decision to take Oxsoralen, you need to know that it works by increasing melanin in your skin. Psoralens, which Oxsoralen is one, are actually used by Vitaligo (the disease where pigmentation lacks and there are pure white splotches on the skin).
It can also cause higher concentrations of unnatural pigmentation in normal skin. It can also darken freckles and accentuate them. Another product out that is injectible is Melanotan1, but it works in the opposite manner - you need to have a higher natural concentration of your own melanin for it to be effective. You take Oxsoralen until you get the desired results. If it makes you feel ill, check with your doctor to find a remedy to accompany it. It’s much better than damaging skin in a tanning bed, but if you feel sick constantly, it isn’t worth it! If you are going to inject Melanotan 1 or 2, use 2mg split up 2x/ day for 10 days and then take 1mg each morning for 10 days. Add a tanning session 2-3 times a week for about 20 days. (Remember, you cannot do this with Oxsoralen)
