It’s been said that man often squanders the gifts of youth. At that time, from birth until age twenty, our bodies recover and grow at a tremendous rate. Bone and muscle growth rates, energy levels, and recovery ability are just off the charts compared to that we contend with as adults. We don’t know it at the time, of course. Our energies are focused upon chasing girls or schoolwork. It’s not until later on in life that we look back and reminiscence, and often resort to modern medicine to re-attain those levels that we truly appreciate the gift we had.

Okay, that’s enough waxing and waning about years past. Let’s talk about today. If you’re reading this, there is a good chance you’ve already past that anabolic window and you are facing life’s decline. The levels of growth hormone in your body are currently fairly constant, and on a slow yet steady decline as you age. At 20, they’re much higher than they are at 30. At 40, you’re in much worse shape. By the time you reach age 60 and beyond, your natural growth hormone production is poor, and your body becomes dilapidated as a result. It is part of the normal aging process, almost a bittersweet award for reaching old age!

Modern medicine has come to the rescue, of course, in the form of injectable pituitary growth hormone (PGH). If you have noticed a decline in your physical appearance and performance in your 4th and 5th decade on this planet, then PGH might be right for you. Originally created in the brain by cells known as somatotrophs, PGH delivers a bevy of growth and recovery instructions and resources to the body.

PGH can take some time to kick in, up to 4 to 8 weeks. For this reason, most users don’t treat the compound like they would any other anabolic substance. Rather, PGH is designed for low-level, long-term use. If you’re a higher level competitive bodybuilder, your use of PGH will be very much different from that of a user seeking a boost for fighting the effects of aging. You’ll need to consult not only with your doctor, but with an experienced guru who has an understanding of the long-term effects of high level doses of PGH upon the body. After all, while he may not have the medical degree, his level of knowledge of effects of heavy anabolics and other compounds on the body will likely be far greater than that of your physician.

If you opt for low level PGH use over the long term, perhaps with a nice testosterone supplementation program, you’ll likely see a fair amount of positive gains without too many negative side effects. Your muscles will be a tad bigger and harder, and your abs will cut through a bit more as a result of the reduced body fat. You’ll feel stronger and more energetic. At the same time, however, you won’t see the miraculous changes often associated with higher level dosing. PGH is a good answer for fighting the negatives that arrive with nature, but human growth hormone, insulin and possible IGF-1 are probably preferable if you wish to pursue a career in competitive bodybuilding.
