Bodybuilders spend a great deal of time doing their research when it comes to steroids. Well, most of them! They realize that the decision to use steroids is a serious one, and one with serious ramifications should something go wrong. They know that simply purchasing and possessing them could lead to serious legal headache. They are aware of the fact they could lose their job, their home, or even their freedom if they were to be caught wheeling and dealing in AAS. They know that ‘bunk’ or counterfeit gear could lead to serious health implications. It just takes one bad shot to lead to a serious lifelong health problem. And they know that needles really, really hurt! With all the emphasis spent focusing upon these details, the shot itself is often pretty much forgotten about. It’s often just assumed that after you get past all the issues that accompany acquiring the drug, simply administering the shot will be as easy as holding your breath, shoving the needle in, and dealing with a few seconds of pain. Many users don’t even realize there are two kinds of shots, which should be used depending upon which drug you are using. Are you ready to learn more?
Subcutaneous injections
This is the injection that sends a needle directly beneath the skin to distribute the oil as close to the surface of the skin as possible. This keeps the release above the muscle, but beneath both the fat and skin. Compounds that are injected in this manner work their way into the bloodstream instantly, so drugs with very sensitive receptive times are injected in this manner. Timing is critical with these compounds. Growth hormone, IGF-1 (insulin growth factor), insulin and the popular post-cycle therapy drug HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) are compounds which work best when injected in a subcutaneous manner.
Intra-muscular injections
This injection takes the needle a bit deeper into the body to inset the oil into the muscle itself. This brings the compounds way below the surface of the skin, beneath the skin and the fat reserves. This kind of shot is painful to users – much more painful than those of the subcutaneous manner – but much more beneficial for most common steroid esters. Common uses for the intra-muscular shot include the oil-based compounds of various testosterone esters, primo depot, Trenbolone acetate, and most other common injectable steroids.
Some bodybuilders wary of the pain associated with intra-muscular injections will opt for the subcutaneous variety as a way to avoid the pain they despise so much. The problem here is that the oil will be released beneath the skin, and not into the muscle group. This will result in the oil being burned up by the body much faster than desired. This also moves oil into places you might not want a large amount of oil entering. Heart blockage and other major issues can arrive as a result of improper injection technique. Shooting it into the muscle group is the only way to assure yourself you are giving the body the most possible chance of receptor uptake.
