TestosteroneThere may be time in your injection process that you don’t quite reach the muscle itself when injecting anabolic steroids (testosterone) into your body. Perhaps you only have access to a short needle. Maybe you are sporting a body fat percentage which puts the muscles of the glutes or deltoids below a great deal of fat. Or, maybe you just plain ol’ missed the spot with your last shot. After all, we are human and these things can happen.

First off, don’t panic. This happens from time to time, even with experienced steroid users. You are still going to be able to enjoy most of the benefits of the oil you put into your body. Don’t re-inject somewhere else on your body because you think the oil in your bloodstream isn’t going to help you because it entered through the skin. Bodybuilders choose intramuscular injections for testosterone because it is safer and because placing the oil in the muscle allows for greater and slower long-term release of the oil into the bloodstream. Steroids last much longer – elevating testosterone levels for a longer period of time – when they are allowed to be trapped in the muscle itself in the form of oil. As it slowly breaks off into the bloodstream, a more steady release takes place. However, if you miss the muscle, you should not worry. You’re still going to see most of the benefits of AAS.

This isn’t to say such shots are not without risk entirely. Abscesses are more likely to occur when the oil doesn’t quite reach the muscle. Your shots are going to be a lot more painful than they would be otherwise. The area can become red or painful to the touch. Very often, users are able to actually “see” the oil sitting beneath the skin. It’s a bit unpleasant to the touch, and can remain there for a full week or longer. We don’t mind when oil sits inside our muscle groups. It makes them larger and we know testosterone is slowly being released. When the oil is trapped beneath the skin, we have to look at it and just wait for any benefits to occur.

The glutes are among the most popular shot zones on the body, and for good reason. Worse than injecting into the skin, is allowing the needle to come in contact with blood vessels in areas such as the thighs and calves. It’s a semi-popular move to inject steroids into problem muscle groups in the hope of some secondary effect leading to growth in this weak muscle group. And this works. Sure, some bodybuilders (such as the man with the world’s biggest arms) will even inject large amounts into one area, which may cause problems, but overall it’s an acceptable practice. However, these areas are rich in veins and other body components which can rupture or become irritated quite easily during injections. For this reason, the glutes are probably the safest and most commonly used place for injections. Shoot through the fat and nestle that needle into the muscle, delivering growth-facilitating oil to the body.
