There are very many deferent brands of steroids nowadays and this has made it even difficult for various scientists and clinical experts to establish the relationship which exists between steroids and how they affect a person’s mental status. Although it has been quite evident that individuals who are on steroids usually exhibit very radical behaviors it has been quite difficult to determine why these takes place. Various research centers have conducted studies if a relationship really exists between using steroids and the mental instability in a person.
In fact one of the signs which are used to tell whether a person is on steroids involves carefully examining his behavior in order to determine if the individual has mood swings. In one such study it the results gotten were very phenomenon with regard to the people who exhibited a lot of violence and rage during the whole period of the study. Those people who were on steroids containing a lot of and androgens were the ones who typically exhibited this signs of radical rages and acts of violence. As a result it was suggested that the reason why this people exhibited such behaviors was because there mental status was affected by the chemicals in the steroids.
There have been recent cases in the media where an enraged youth walks into a public school and just opens fire on his colleagues. Have you ever wondered what makes the youth behave with so much anger and rage? I mean throwing a fit is one thing but taking a gun and going to blow your colleagues away is taking anger to whole different level. If we explain this biologically, the reason is because the youths usually have very high levels of androgen and testosterone. And these two hormones are what determine whether you will be prone to violence or not. Therefore since the youths have a lot of these two hormones it is no wonder that they are always moody and aggressive. However as there youth begins to slowly fade, away so does there anger.
Before you decide to start using steroids you have to prepare yourself for the mood swings which come along with it. If you find yourself getting angry for no apparent reason you should know that the mood swings have started kicking in. There was this case I heard in the gym about a guy we used to train with in the gym. Apparently one day he wakes up and finds his cat which he had lived with for almost three years drinking his morning milk. You can not believe what he did, can you imagine he got so annoyed that he started kicking the poor kitty until it died. Am telling you the mood swings associated with steroids are no laughing matter and it can make you start attending anger management classes.
Steroids can also make you suffer from very severe cases of depression to the extent that you even contemplate committing suicide. So the next time you think about using them think about the repercussions on your mental status.
