For years, bodybuilding gurus have been recommending the use of aromatase inhibitors (AIs) following a steroid cycle in order to prevent side effects such as massive water bloat and the most feared side effect to the competitive bodybuilder, gynecomastia. When the body is subjected to a steroid cycle, its testosterone levels are spiked in an unnatural way. This is terrific for building muscle and increasing strength, but it also has a negative side effect. Among the brain’s jobs is one task of keeping testosterone and estrogen levels at an acceptable ratio in the body. If the endocrine system detects a spike in testosterone levels, it will enter a panic mode and immediately order the production of higher levels of estrogen in order to keep an appropriate ratio in place. The scariest part of using anabolic steroids is without a doubt, the side effects. The vast majority of anabolic steroids aromatize. This means that they convert to estrogen in the body. This estrogen is responsible for most of these side effects we fear so much, including acne, bloating, and the dreaded gynecomastia. Arimidex is a drug called an aromatase inhibitor, or an AI. It prevents the body from producing some additional estrogen when taking anabolic steroids. It doesn’t stop all estrogen production. A certain level of estrogen is required to be present for muscle growth to take place. Arimidex ensures levels remain useful but not so high as to cause side effects. FYI, I'm taking 2.5mg of Femara, .5mg of Arimidex, and 100mg of Clomid, and Pheraplex. A: This is a great question. A lot of people think as your friends do. Also, I can tell you that you don't need all of what you're taking either. The Femara alone will work and 2.5 mg is actually a bit of overkill. Less would do the trick. Too much estrogen suppression Blocking too much estrogen is actually a bad thing, and this is where guys run into impotence ...

Hormone replacement therapy is one of the hottest topics in bodybuilding today. It involves the use of synthetic hormones to allow the body to produce higher levels of the sex hormones testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone. Originally designed for people with low hormone levels due to a condition, it quickly caught on among elderly people who were able to match the vitality of a person decades younger. Hollywood noticed next, and was followed by groups of 30-, 40-, and 50-something professionals seeking to regain their youth. Hormone therapy is today’s fountain of youth – allowing people of all ages to return to the testosterone levels they enjoyed in their twenties, even if they are decades older. As men age, their body’s natural level of testosterone (male sex hormone) decreases, and their production of estrogen (female sex hormone) increases. ...
