Q: I just got my blood work done to test my liver enzymes and such, and they just called me and said everything was fine. But what is "Fine"? Don't I have a right to see them and go over them with my doctor? Getting the high sign is great, but it was pretty vague, too. A: You do, and it's fairly unprofessional to be that vague when it's an entire blood assay that's been performed (which we're assuming was done). Call your doctor back and set up a "follow up" appointment for his office only. Specify that it is to discuss results in-depth, as a follow up to a paid visit, and that you do not expect to have to pay for the doctor's explanation since it was a part of earlier services already compensated. If you don't specify ...

Natural bodybuilding competitions are often anything but. The men onstage at some of the top “tested” shows carry a level of muscle mass and conditioning seen on Mr. Olympia candidates of the 1960s. Very often, “natural” is nothing more than a euphemism for a bodybuilder with poor genetics who doesn’t have access to growth hormone (the two factors which enable an athlete o excel at the upper ranks of untested amateur competition). As a result of this fact, this article will toss out all moral obligations to actually remain clean to compete in a natural contest. Yes, not every athlete onstage is using steroids. But many of them are. Many organizations will not test their athletes for drug use. The flyers and signs for the event will proudly proclaim “NATURAL EVENT!” but the reality is that ...

Promoting a professional bodybuilding show is very expensive business. Promoters must rent an auditorium, pay for insurance, staff, lighting, and a million other things. They must also advertise the show locally, sell tickets, and cut checks for the winning athletes. And, they typically have to run an NPC show on the undercard to help pay for most of the above, as professional bodybuilding shows don't garner near as much ticket sales as the amateur shows do. NPC shows (amateurs) involve local athletes who invite their family, friends, and co-workers out to the show. Professional bodybuilders don't have that luxury. As a result of all these costs, and often limited ticket sales, promoters often take a loss on shows. Or, if they do make a profit, it's a very slim profit. They are always lucky to break ...

Placing a total ban on the use 0f steroids by professional bodybuilders has both positive and negative implications that should be carefully considered before any decisions are made. Such a monumental decision should be thoroughly debated amongst all stakeholders because any final decision reached is bound to have far reaching implications. Some will argue that the sport of bodybuilding is all about displaying the extremes the body can be taken to and that the current state of affairs needs to be upheld. Well, it is common sense that most if not all professional bodybuilders use steroids to develop their massive physiques. These physiques are what attract people to the sport in the first place. This is not necessarily to become the next Mr. Olympia but think of it in terms of magazine sales, ticket sales to the events, and the sale ...

There are many bodybuilding associations out there that say they’re all natural. But most of the people who win in the different classes of the competitions seem to have obtained muscle gains that are impossible to do without the help of chemicals. While the argument about the morals of a steroid user competing in a natural competition could be an article by itself, it is a well-known fact that there is a huge selection of products and techniques at our disposal that will make sure that a competitor who uses drugs isn’t caught when drug tests are administered. Passing the Screening Usually it is standard to test the blood or urine of a competitor for any drugs in their system. Without the knowledge of which type of test you’ll be given, it will be best to prepare for every one of them, whether ...

So you need to take a steroid test? For many jobs, pre-screening for drug use is a pre-requisite for employment. While many standard blood or urine panels only aim to detect common illegal street drugs, more complex tests do detect anabolic steroids. Likewise, if you are a muscular person, and your boss chooses to have you tested specifically for steroids, the panel will pick up anabolic agents. Let’s take a look at just how long it takes for steroids to leave the system, and not show up on tests. More than one year Deca-Durabolin, Norandren, Dynabolan, Anabolicum, Turanabol Depot, Durabolin, Anabolin, Fenobolin, and Turinabol all remain in the system for 12 to 18 months. If you take any of these compounds, be aware that you will likely be unable to pass a steroid test for 12 to ...

Q:  How do you beat a drug test? A: Boy, that's about as broad a question as you can get. I don't know if you mean beating a test for AAS or for recreational drugs or other illegal substances. Regardless, beating any drug test is no picnic and something that is much more intricate than saying, "Do X and the outcome will be Y." A lot of the drug-beating tests and options on the internet center around beating tests that focus on recreational drugs, such as marijuana and other "party" drugs. Many employers these days are testing routinely to keep a "drug-free" workplace. Naturally, I will tell you that I'm in favor of this, as recreational drugs and steroids are two very different things. Powdered urine can be purchased and reconstituted to take the place of a real ...
