Q: When is the best time to take Glutamine? It's frustrating, because in the sports supplement industry, there are never any directions for taking anything. I guess because you're not allowed to tell people how to take it, but it's hard for someone to know. What gives and how do I know how much to take? And is peptide vs free form better?
A: Glutamine is great for post workout recovery, as you probably know. It's very valuable, in our opinion, despite what some say. We prefer to take it away from other amino acids and make it a stand alone recovery tool. I'd take 5 grams of L-Glutamine, 30 minutes after your post-workout shake (again, to stay away from other amino's), and then 30 minutes later, you would have a full meal. Take it between meals and take ...Posted in: Steroid Q&A | | Comments (0)

Q: I just got some BCAA Powder from NOW Sports. Just curious, can I take it with glutamine, or would they fight for absorption? And how much is too much or enough?
A: The whole point is absorption, so you want them to be absorbed. I combine and recommend combining BCAAs and Glutamine all the time. This adds size, folks, and is a great addendum to a hard workout. You should take at least 5 grams of BCAA and about 3-5 grams of Glutamine after each workout. BCAAs are comprised of 50% Leucine, 25% Isoleucine and 25% Valine. But keep in mind that there are only 5 grams of Amino Acids in the blood stream at any given time. Within that 5 grams, 60 percent is glutamine. It is something that is actually VERY tightly controlled by your body. Now ...Posted in: Steroid Articles | | Comments (0)

This important amino acid is manufactured in the body and is therefore not a mandatory requirement in the diet. Though there are lots of foods that supply the body with glutamine, the body still requires manufacturing lots of this amino acid because of the sheer magnitude of demand. The body’s main site of glutamine manufacture is in the muscle cells. Glutamine is made through the chemical reaction that involves the combination of ammonia and glutamate (an amino acid). The manufacture of glutamine takes place on a very large scale such that this substance occupies more than sixty percent of the storage space set aside for free amino-acids in the muscle cells. It is these large reserves that supply glutamine to the blood plasma and to the other tissue sites that require the same.
In previous times it was thought that glutamine ...Posted in: Steroid Articles | | Comments (0)

Q: What are the most effective and least effective supplements out there?
A: That’s such a loaded question, but I’ll just tell you my opinion:
First off, I do find Muscle Tech products to be absolute overpriced crap. But that’s my opinion. I think carb blockers are useless, most of today’s thermogenics (some are good) most protein bars, Z-Test, Boldione and most of the andro-poppers. Myostatin inhibitors are also pretty useless. Some good ones, in general, are L-arginine, 1AD for sure, M1T, Glutamine, BCAAs, and NO supps. Some are better than others of those also. Some people have had good results on 1TU, though I would disagree. 1AD though, for sure, is a good one. I think missing mentioning multivitamins (probably the most important for synthesizing everything you eat or supplement) is missing the boat. Also, fish and flax ...Posted in: Steroid Q&A | | Comments (0)

Q: What would you say the top 8-10 supplements are to have in your cupboard?
A: Protein would have to be number one. Whether whey alone or MRPs – personally, I think both are good to have. Second, glutamine because of recuperation. It’s a wonder supplement in my opinion. Third, creatine for size and regular gains. Fourth, a good multi-vitamin, plus extra C, E, B and A vitamins. Fifth, ZMA in the p.m. Sixth, probably a good joint supplement. Seventh, I recommend a good liver cleanser formula, including milk thistle and maybe some goldenseal. Eighth, I’d say some kind of flax or fish oil is crucial and keeps you in better condition, if you eat relatively well year ‘round. And ninth, I’d say a fat burner like a multi-formula for fat burning that includes products like ...Posted in: Steroid Q&A | | Comments (0)
