HPTA is an abbreviation for hypothalamic pituitary testicular axis. This is the overall system of functions and parts which combine to deliver the orders to measure, produce, and release testosterone into your body. Your hypothalamus produces a hormone called GnRh which in turn orders the pituitary gland to issue the order for more testosterone to be produced by the testes. As a result, the testes create testosterone in a small stream which lasts throughout the day.
