From the onset, steroid usage has not been without the drama of consequence. Most of which is anything but good or of benefit to the body of a human being, internally and externally. Use of these drugs of abuse bring changes to the body, changes that are foreseeable mostly in women who use steroids, mostly rendering them within the jaws of death and body function collapse.
It is very clear that the woman’s body is not equipped or endowed with the facility for perfect administration of anabolic steroids. Steroids as such are quite powerful as messengers, more as signals to the cells to begin behaving in a certain way, while most of these steroids have never been outwardly seen as making that exact harm extent unobtrusive towards the eyes of the user. Although the type, the dosage and the duration of the steroid usage are factors that are very significant in terms of the negative effects being lethal and severe, even a single cycle in the life of a person and at low doses could cause some irreversible damages, which can be felt even after the end of the said cycle.
Some serious conditions most of physical nature are clearly seen in individuals using Anabolic steroids. In women, there is the occurrence and development of some secondary changes which are also seen as structures of the anatomy and features, features that are not in any way related directly towards the overall production of any cell that pertains to sex. These transformations are clinically referred as virilization, which is under the production of androgens, or any other synthetic or natural drug, which in turn stimulates and controls all the development as well as the maintenance of all masculine traits and characteristics.
A range of these darker effects are irreversible and permanent while others can leave, though partially, once the steroids are discontinued. Most negative side effects include among others voice deepening, body hair increases, scalp hair losses, damage of the kidney or liver, acne, oily skin, pore enlargement within the face, breast size decrease plus increases in levels of bad cholesterols.
In recent times, there have been studies on steroidal abuse which have been done mostly on women. One of these studies has pointed steroid usage towards the sporadic increases in aggression and irritability cases. In addition, a female under steroids has a mental instability that can only be termed as moderate, while swings in the mood of the users has been seen to emanate from hormonal changes of the secondary characteristics, occasioned by the drugs. These changes have been followed by instances of hypomania, which are a part and parcel of the manic cycle of depression, paranoia and even serious cases of bipolar disorders.
In addition, most women have been suffering from such withdrawal symptoms as depression, apathy, anxiety, losing appetite, psychosis and listlessness. These factors make a woman distracted, forgetful, and confused in terms of behavior and actions. Rarely will she realize what is transpiring within her, and she will end up blaming something else for her miseries.
