For beginner bodybuilders, insulin use is crazy. Absolutely crazy. You have not yet nailed down all of the aspects required for the foundation of a solid physique. If you have not yet reached a bodyweight of 200 pounds without steroids, and 225 pounds with the use of steroids, then you have no business even doing a Google search on the use of insulin for bodybuilding gains. If you have developed a solid base of muscle, and are seeking more information on the use of insulin to advance your gains as you approach your absolute physical limits, then it might be time to look into insulin. And you have come to the right place for that!

First off, you will want to develop some knowledge on insulin before you go diving into discussion and eventually purchases. If you call up your friends and tell them you’re looking for a steroid called insulin, you are going to look foolish. First off, it isn’t even a steroid. It’s a hormone that is secreted naturally by the body as your brain responds to high sugar levels in the bloodstream. You don’t need to visit your local gym rat drug dealer or send away your money to some manufacturing plant overseas, because it is legal to purchase insulin. Millions of Americans use insulin as a tool (along with diet and exercise) for managing their diabetes.

Effective dosing for insulin is between 5 and 15 IU per day. You will pay about $20 for a vial containing 10 ml, or 1000 IU of insulin. This is very inexpensive, considering the impact this can have upon your physique. Even with the highest dose of 15 IU per day, you’ll only be paying $20 for a two-month supply of insulin. Despite this great price, you shouldn’t forego the more expensive and legally riskier testosterone as your main bodybuilding steroid, and jump right to the insulin. Pay your dues, and move up the ranks slowly, fulfilling your bodybuilding potential along the way.

You will be making an insulin injection once per day. Start low, at 2 IU per day, and work your way up to your maximum dose over a period of two weeks. Inject insulin immediately following your training session. You should be consuming a good post-workout protein source at the same time, along with some sugar to prevent your body from going into a hypoglycemic state due to the insulin. After all, insulin needs carbs to work, and to avoid disrupting your body’s major functions. Two hundreds grams of dextrose is often recommended, mixed with water and consumed as you take the insulin. Failure to do so can be very serious. Don’t just grab a protein bar and assume the sugar is sufficient for what your body needs at this point.

Don’t use insulin for the first time during a dieting phase before an important show. It’s tough to calculate your exact post-workout carbohydrate needs initially. We select 200 because it’s a safe number, but too much of it will lead to gains in body fat. You will need to scale back as you learn what your body needs. Work with a professional who has experience in the use of insulin for bodybuilding purposes.
